How To Make Quick & Tasty Flan | Doolshe Banaadir | Ramadan Food
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup sugar (to caramelize)
- 1/2 cup sugar (for mixture)
- 5 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 1/4 tsp of ground cardamom
Instructions:
- Put 1/2 cup of sugar into a pot, place pot on medium heat, allow to caramelize
- Watch it like hawk, it can burn easily, it should take approximately 5 minutes to caramelize
- Make sure to swirl occasionally to coat the entire pan and to break clumps
- Once caramelized, remove the pot from heat and allow to cool
- In a bowl, add in 1/2 cup sugar, 5 eggs, and 1/2 cup milk and mix well
- Then add in 1 1/4 tsp of ground cardamom to mixture and mix well
- Grab a strainer and place on top of caramelized pot
- Sift the egg mixture into the pot
- Grab a larger pan and fill half way with water, place the flan pot into the water pan, and then place them into the oven
- Bake at 350 degrees F for 50-60 minutes
- When ready, remove the flan pot from the oven and place into the refrigerator for 10-20 minutes to chill
