how to make tasty malawax / lahoh / somali crepe / somali pancake
Ingredients:
- 2 cups milk
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp cardamom
- 2 cups flour
- Toppings:
- ghee
- sugar
- powdered sugar
- nutella
- strawberries
Instructions:
- Put all your ingredients (2 cups milk, 2 eggs, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp cardamom, 2 cups flour) in a blender and blend until smooth.
- Heat up a pan with some oil, wipe off the excess.
- Place about 1/4 cup or so of batter to the heated pan and twirl pan to evenly coat pan for evenly thin malawax/lahoh.
- Cook both sides a few minutes each (~2 to 3 minutes) until golden brown.
- Continue until complete.
- Add your toppings and enjoy (add a little bit of ghee and sugar, traditionally or add your other favorite toppings like nutella, strawberries, and powdered sugar)! Eat savory or sweet.
- Option 1: fold the malawax/lahoh in half twice for triangular shape presentation.
- Option 2: roll up each one.
- Option 3: eat flat, as is.
